York hosts an "Access" Beacon College. We run Sumer projects for younger people and school day workshop visits arranged by Teachers/Parents - contact the centre for more information. Accessible Arts & Cube Media We are a local user-led community, arts, media provision, whose primary purpose is to create high quality, accessible, inclusive opportunities for young people, people with disabilities and the wider community to engage in local arts and media activities. Acomb & District Conservative Club Limited We are a social club where members get together to enjoy a variety of non-political activities. Acomb Afternoon Townswomen's Guild We are a local branch of the Townswomen's Guild. We promote good citizenship and enjoy friendship, monthly talks, demonstrations and interesting outings. Acomb Bowling Club This club offers flat or lawn bowling for ladies, gents and mixed teams. As well as competitive bowling. Social games take place on most afternoons. Acomb Cricket Club We promote and provide cricket for all ages in the York area. Acomb Flower Guild We are members of NAFAS (National Association Flower Arranging Society). We believe in friendship through flowers. It is a therapeutic past-time and we welcome new members and guests. Acomb Library Reading Group There are two reading groups based at Acomb Library who meet once a month. Acomb Local History Group The group meets for talks and study of Acomb's history. Photographs and records of the old Acomb families are available along with school and community memorabilia. Occasional local walks and evening events are held. |
