Friends of Clifton Backies Local Nature Reserve To provide a community voice for people interested in the Local Nature Reserve. We provide a link between local people, the site and the management committee. Friends of Fairfax House Support and advancement of Fairfax House, a registered museum (no.1233). Friends of Hob Moor To promote conservation and improvement of natural environment of Hob Moor; promote Hob Moor for education and quiet recreation; promote research into its history and ecology. Hob Moor is now a local nature reserve. Friends of Mayfields Nature Reserve The group exists to manage, maintain and promote the pond, meadow and woods on an area of land stretching from Mayfield Grove to Hobmoor. Fishing is available on Mayfield pond with access from Nelson's Lane. Friends of Poppleton Tithe Barn We aim to preserve the 16th Century barn for community use. Friends of St. Nicholas Fields St Nicholas Fields is a 24 acre Local Nature Reserve that has a children's playground, mini stonehenge, butterfly walk and wooded areas. York Environment Centre, on the edge of the nature reserve, offers information and advice on a range of environmental issues. We also have a meeting room (7m x 5m - can hold up to 30 people) which is available for booking. Running Wild club run by Yorkshire Wildl.... Friends of the Earth We campaign on local, national and international environmental issues to create the change we want to see as part of an international organisation. Friends of the National Railway Museum To give assistance with finance , volunteers, influence, promotion and publicity. Monthly evening lectures in winter. Friends of West Bank Park To work as a team with city of york council to enhance the long meadow and former west bank house site as natural areas and to help maintain the formal area of the park. |
