Experimental Watercolours

A1270T2 FULL Experimental Watercolours NW110926LP

Additional Information:
The tutor will provide all materials needed for the first few sessions, although if learners already have watercolour brushes / paints and watercolour paper they are welcome to bring these along. As the course progresses, learners will be advised on suitable equipment they will need to purchase.

Full Course Description:
Watercolour can be an unpredictable and spontaneous medium, and this course will give learners the opportunity to experiment and have fun with it. Learners will be using a mix of themes to do this – from close up studies, to still life and landscapes, both rural and urban. The work of a number of artists will be looked at - including that of Paul Cezanne, John Piper, Shirley Trevena, Ann Brockley and Hazel Soan, and these will be initially used as inspirational starting points for the work that is produced. Although watercolour paints will be our main medium, learners may also go on to incorporate inks, dyes, pastels, printing, collage and other mixed media as the course progresses.
