Get up to date computer skills for the workplace and gain an ECDL Level 1 Certificate for IT Users.

PLEASE NOTE: Registering an interest into this course will ensure you receive a phone call to assess your skills. Full payment will only be taken if the course is suitable and you are subsequently enrolled.

You will learn the basic computer skills needed for Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel and Outlook. You will create and edit a spreadsheet using simple formulae and go on to present data using graphs and charts. Moving forward you will create and edit a word-processed document and then save/retrieve files you have created into an organised list of folders. You will also learn to search and navigate the Internet and use emails and calendars productively. To gain the full certificate there is a 4th module which revises the practical application of the skills acquired. This course is very beneficial to those wishing to progress to an ECDL Level 2.
This course complements the ECDL Essentials course which covers file management and computer essentials at the same level. As each course covers different aspects of IT both courses can be taken.

There is a £10 refundable deposit required for each book. You will need to provide your own USB memory stick.  Additional study of about 2 hours a week is recommended.

For those who have basic computing skills and wish to develop them and learn to use other computer applications for home or office.

There will be sample assessments before undertaking a 45 minute test at the end of each module. You can take 3 attempts at each unit. All 4 units must be completed to gain the full qualification.
