You will be led on a journey through far eastern vegetarian cuisine. The tutor will show you how to use the appropriate spices and cook and prepare dishes from a variety of countries – Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, and more.
This course will give new meaning to vegetarian food: tasty, healthy, colourful and exciting. We will work our way through a diverse menu, beginning with starters and side dishes, moving on to main courses, and concluding with some desserts.
With step-by-step guidance and tutor demonstrations, you will prepare and cook all of the dishes from scratch, learning various cooking techniques and discovering a world of new flavours. You will get to take the dishes you have cooked home to enjoy with friends and family.
Please bring with a sharp knife, apron, two tea towels, wok or deep frying pan, six plastic containers with lids. You will be asked to bring your own ingredients each week. A list of ingredients will be emailed out 2 weeks before the class and should cost between £10 and £15 per week.
The tutor can supply some of the spices and specialized items for the recipes. A fee of £12 in cash is payable to the tutor for this at the first class. All ingredients lists will indicate which items the tutor will provide; you are of course welcome to provide all of your own ingredients each week if you prefer.
